Privacy Policy

Food Truck POS is built with privacy by design. We collect only what is needed to run your business.

1. Who We Are

Food Truck POS is a point of sale application for food trucks and mobile vendors. We are an independent software product. For privacy questions contact us at foodtruckposapp@outlook.com.

2. What Data We Collect

On Device (stored only on your iPad, never sent to us)

  • Menu items, prices, and categories you create
  • Order history and transaction records
  • Customer names and phone numbers you enter
  • Business profile information including your truck name and logo
  • Tax configuration settings

Through the App Backend (sent to our servers)

  • Analytics snapshots you choose to sync: revenue totals, order counts, top items. No individual customer data is included.
  • Recent order summaries for the web dashboard: order number, total, payment method, and timestamp only.
  • Your backend URL and API key are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to us.

Through Third Party Services

  • Stripe processes card payments. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment data. We never store card numbers.
  • Twilio sends SMS notifications to customers who place orders. Phone numbers are transmitted to Twilio only when an SMS is actively sent.

3. What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect your name or personal identity
  • We do not collect device identifiers for advertising
  • We do not sell your data to any third party
  • We do not use your data for advertising or marketing
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites
  • We do not collect analytics about how you use the app beyond what you explicitly sync to the dashboard

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the POS features of the app
  • To display your analytics on the web dashboard when you choose to sync
  • To send order ready SMS notifications to your customers
  • To process card payments through Stripe

5. Data Storage and Security

  • All order and customer data is stored locally on your iPad using Apple CoreData
  • Dashboard analytics are stored temporarily in memory on our backend server and reset on each deployment
  • Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified
  • We use HTTPS for all data transmission between the app and our backend
  • Your API key is stored in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted by the operating system

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access all your data. It lives on your device and you can view it at any time in the app.
  • Delete your data. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
  • Export your data. Use the End of Day report PDF export feature.
  • Opt out of dashboard sync. Simply do not configure a backend URL in Settings.

7. Children

Food Truck POS is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
