What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and tokens — these work in a similar way to cookies and are used to store information on your device.
How We Use Cookies
FoodTruck POS uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Authentication: To keep you logged in to the web dashboard across page loads and browser sessions
- Session management: To maintain your active session state and prevent you from being logged out unexpectedly
- Security: To help detect and prevent unauthorized access, CSRF attacks, and session hijacking
- Preferences: To remember your UI preferences such as selected date ranges, view modes, or display settings
We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioural profiling, retargeting, or to track you across other websites.
Cookies We Set
The following cookies are set by FoodTruck POS directly (first-party cookies):
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
auth_token |
Session / 30 days | Stores your JWT authentication token to keep you logged in to the dashboard. | |
csrf_token |
Session | CSRF protection token to verify that form submissions originate from the FoodTruck POS dashboard. | |
ui_prefs |
1 year | Stores your display preferences (e.g., selected date range, items per page) so they persist across visits. |
Platforms & Cookies
Cookie usage differs across our platforms:
The landing page (foodtruckpos.app) does not set any cookies. It is a static HTML/CSS page with no JavaScript tracking.
Third-Party Cookies
When you use the web dashboard, certain third-party services may set cookies on your device:
Stripe (Payment Processing)
When you access Stripe-powered billing pages or payment flows, Stripe may set cookies on your device. These cookies are used by Stripe for fraud prevention, security, and remembering your payment preferences. Stripe's cookie policy is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Vercel (Hosting)
Our web dashboard is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may set functional cookies related to routing, performance, and edge deployments. These are infrastructure-level cookies and do not contain personal information.
No Analytics or Advertising Cookies
We do not use:
- Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or other analytics platforms on our web dashboard
- Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, or any advertising/retargeting cookies
- Hotjar, FullStory, or session recording tools
- Any cross-site tracking technologies
Your Choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Below are instructions for the most common browsers:
⋮ Menu → Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
Safari menu → Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
☰ Menu → Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
… Menu → Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Clearing Cookies
You can delete all cookies that FoodTruck POS has set at any time through your browser's cookie management settings. To delete cookies from the dashboard specifically, look for cookies from foodtruckpos.app.
Mobile App Tokens
To clear authentication tokens from the mobile apps, simply log out of the app. This will delete the stored token from secure storage. You can also uninstall the app to remove all stored data.
Impact of Disabling Cookies
Because we use only essential cookies for the core dashboard functionality, disabling or deleting cookies will affect your experience:
- Authentication cookie disabled: You will be logged out and will need to log in every time you open the dashboard
- CSRF token disabled: Form submissions may fail or be rejected as a security precaution
- Preference cookie disabled: Your UI preferences will not persist between sessions
The landing page (foodtruckpos.app) works fully without any cookies.
